# How to build a pipeline for your real estate agents

> A written walkthrough of the video showing how to set up partner stages, partner types, and a customized pipeline for referral partners in Leaf360.

This is the written version of a video showing how to set up agent and referral partner pipelines in Leaf360, instead of tracking every partner in one flat list.

Prefer to watch it instead? Here's the video:

## Where business contacts live

Every referral partner you add lands in **All Business Contacts**. From there, partner types like Real Estate Agents, Loan Officers, and Title show up as their own rows in the sidebar — unless they're hidden. Clicking the eye icon next to a hidden type brings it back.

Turning that flat list into a real pipeline takes three steps, in order:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Check your partner stages">
    In Settings, check your partner stages before building anything else — this is the stage flow your referral partners will move through. Leaf360 ships with a solid default set, but you can add or remove stages if you need to.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm your partner types">
    Still in Settings, make sure the type of partner you want to build a pipeline for already exists — Real Estate Agent, Title Agent, Homeowners Insurance, Loan Officer, and so on. Click **Add Type** to create a new one (for example, Transaction Coordinator) if it's missing, then **Create**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Build the pipeline">
    Create a new pipeline for that partner type, give it a name, an icon, and a color. It shows up in the sidebar as soon as you save it.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Customizing focus bars

Open a partner pipeline (for example, Loan Officers), go to **All**, and click **Customize** — it works the same way as customizing a sales pipeline. Add a focus bar, name it, and give it a filter, for example **contact stage is New Prospect**. You can add more than one filter to a bar (for example, VIP and Top Partner together) and reorder or delete them as needed.

## Moving a partner between stages

Change a contact's stage — either on the pipeline itself or on their contact record — and they move automatically into whichever focus bar matches. A contact moved out of VIP into New Prospect leaves the active partners view and appears under prospects instead.

Each partner type (real estate agents, title companies, and so on) can have its own pipeline with its own stages and focus bars — they don't need to share the same workflow.
