# Compliance Settings

> The Compliance Settings screen in Leaf360 Mortgage CRM: calling hours, Do Not Call, SMS, recording, consent and campaign configuration for outbound communication, and how admins reach it from Settings.

Compliance Settings is where your company's outbound rules live: calling hours, Do Not Call handling, SMS opt-in and opt-out wording, recording disclosures, consent rules and campaign limits, all in one form.

Open it from **Settings**, under **Security & Compliance**, then **Outbound Compliance**. Only company admins, owners and anyone carrying the compliance role see that entry; everyone else's Security & Compliance group skips straight past it.

The screen has six tabs: **Calling Hours**, **DNC**, **SMS**, **Recording**, **Consent** and **Campaign**. You'll see a loading spinner while your company's settings load. The first time anyone at your company opens this screen, Leaf360 sets up your company's settings with their defaults already filled in, so there's nothing you need to set up by hand before you start changing values.

**Save Settings** in the header saves all six tabs at once, not one tab at a time, and shows a confirmation message once it's done. Leaf360 checks your permissions again at the moment you save, separately from what let the screen open in the first place — so a save can still be refused even though the screen itself loaded, for example if your permission level changed since you opened the page.

## Calling Hours

Two time pickers, **Default Start Time** and **Default End Time**, default to 8 AM and 9 PM. Nothing on this tab, or anywhere else in Compliance Settings, lets you set hours by state. Leaf360 automatically applies its own shorter calling windows for a handful of states no matter what's set here, and you can't edit that table.

## DNC

| Control              | What it sets                                                                          |
| -------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Federal DNC Enabled | Whether your company checks contacts against the national registry |
| State DNC Enabled | Whether your company checks contacts against state level lists |
| Internal DNC Enabled | Whether your company keeps its own Do Not Call list |
| Scrub Frequency | How many days between re-checks against DNC lists |
| Auto-add on Request | Whether a contact asking to be removed gets added to your internal list automatically |

Federal DNC Enabled is on by default, and it also decides whether your company is included in Leaf360's nightly check of how stale your federal scrub is. Turn it off, and your company drops out of that nightly check.

## SMS

| Control                      | What it sets                                                                   |
| ---------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Require Double Opt-In | Whether a new SMS marketing subscriber is held as pending until they reply YES |
| Double Opt-In Message | The wording for the message asking a contact to confirm with YES |
| Help Response | What a contact receives when they text HELP |
| Opt-Out Confirmation | What a contact receives when they text STOP |
| Include Opt-Out Instructions | Whether Leaf360 appends "Reply STOP to opt out." to a message before sending |
| Max Messages / Day           | The per-contact same-day text count Leaf360 compares against                   |
| Quiet Hours Start / End | Two more time pickers, for SMS specifically |

Help Response and Opt-Out Confirmation are the actual replies a contact gets back when they text HELP or STOP to one of your numbers — they're wired to your live SMS number today. Include Opt-Out Instructions only affects texts a workflow sends automatically; a text you or a teammate sends by hand never picks up the suffix, whether this is on or off.

## Recording

**Recording Enabled**, **Disclosure Type** (One-Party or All-Party Consent), **Disclosure Message**, **Auto-Play Disclosure** and **Recording Retention** in days round out this tab.

Disclosure Message is the wording Leaf360 falls back to for a call's recording disclosure. When Leaf360 can tell the caller is in a state that requires all-party consent, it automatically swaps in stricter wording instead of what's typed here.

## Consent

| Control                                       | What it sets                                                                                                          |
| --------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Require Express Written Consent for Marketing | A switch for marketing outreach requiring documented written consent |
| Consent Expiration | Days until a captured consent record expires and its related consent flag turns back off. Zero means it never expires |
| Block on Ambiguous Consent | Governs what happens when a contact's consent status is neither a recorded yes nor a recorded no |
| Third-Party Lead Consent Required | A switch for consent proof on leads sourced from third parties |

Admins also see a fifth switch, **Show Consent Card on Manual Lead Entry**. It controls whether the New Lead form shows a consent confirmation card. Turn it off, and the form stops asking — it records verbal consent for transactional calls and texts automatically instead.

## Campaign

Four more settings live here: two switches, **Require Approved Script** and **Require Pre-Scrub**, and two numbers, **Max Attempts Per Contact** and **Cooldown Between Attempts** — the hours before you can try the same contact again.

## Common problems

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Save Settings does nothing, or refuses">
    Leaf360 checks your permissions again on every save, separately from whether you were allowed to open the screen. If your permission level changed since you loaded the page, refresh and try again.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Everything on the screen is already filled in, on the very first visit">
    Leaf360 sets up your company's settings with their defaults the first time anyone opens this screen. That's expected, not a sign someone already changed them.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I don't see Outbound Compliance in Settings at all">
    That section only appears for admins, owners and the compliance role. Everyone else's Security & Compliance group is shorter.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A text I sent by hand is missing the opt-out line, even with Include Opt-Out Instructions on">
    That switch only affects texts a workflow sends automatically. Manual sends never get the suffix appended.
  </Accordion>
