If you applied to join a mortgage company and someone asked you to upload a document or check where things stand, you may have been sent a link rather than an account to log into. This page covers that link. This is different from having a full account with the company. If you were asked to register and sign in instead, see Applying to join a company.

Checking your status

A status link shows where your application stands: your name, the position you applied for, the date you applied, and a checklist of steps with each one marked completed, in progress, or not yet started. Typical steps cover things like your documents, a background check, licensing, compliance, compensation and onboarding. Below that is a list of any documents you have submitted and their status, and a short timeline of recent activity on your application. If you have a question beyond what the page shows, it points you to your recruiter directly.

Uploading a requested document

If someone at the company asked you for a specific document, your link opens straight to a request screen. It tells you who asked and what for, and lists each document they need with a required or optional label. You upload a file for each one, and the screen shows your progress as you go, ending with a confirmation once everything required has been sent in. Accepted files are PDF, Word, Excel or image files, up to about 10 MB each. If something you already sent needs to be redone, that document is marked and the screen tells you why, with a button to send a replacement. Your upload is not confirmed until the page tells you it succeeded. Stay on the page until you see that confirmation, and try again if you see an error rather than assuming it went through. A document request link is only valid for a limited time, so upload what was asked for as soon as you can. If it has expired, your recruiter can send you a new one. Either way, treat the link like anything else with your personal information on it: use it yourself rather than passing it on to someone else.
