If a mortgage company has been talking to you about joining them, you may be sent a link and an access code to set up an account and apply. This page walks through what that looks like.

Getting in

Your recruiter sends you an email with a link and a code specific to you. Opening the link takes you to a page carrying the company’s own name and branding, with options to create an account or sign in if you already have one. Creating an account asks for your name, email and a password, and confirms your code first so the right details are already filled in for you. After you submit it, you need to verify your email before you can sign in, by clicking a link sent to the address you registered with. Once your account is verified, signing in just needs your email and password, plus a one-time code if two-factor authentication is turned on.

Your application

Your application is a short series of steps: personal details, the position and licensing information relevant to it, identification documents, and a final review before you submit. Your progress is saved automatically as you go, so you can leave and come back without losing what you have entered. The identification step asks for one of a small number of accepted document combinations, for example a passport on its own, or a driver’s license together with a Social Security card, which is standard for confirming you are eligible to work. You can also upload a resume if you want to include one. Nothing here is submitted to the company until you reach the final step and confirm it. Once you do, you land on a confirmation screen and are told what happens next. Until your application is submitted, most of the rest of the portal stays locked, so the application itself is the first thing to finish.

Documents

After your application is in, Documents is where you go if the company asks for anything further, or if you want to upload or replace something like your resume. Each document you send shows its own status.

Your dashboard

Once your application is submitted, your dashboard shows where things stand, any tasks the company’s team has assigned to you, and a place to send along documents as they come up.

Settings

Your settings cover your profile, your photo, your password, and two-factor authentication, all of which you can update yourself at any time.

Getting help

A help section inside the portal lists common questions and how to reach the company if you need to ask something directly.
