This is the written version of a short video showing why “Website” as a lead source tells you nothing once you’re running multiple landing pages and ad campaigns, and how to set up sources that actually mean something. Prefer to watch it instead? Here’s the video:
For where Source shows up once leads are flowing in, see Sales Pipeline. This page just follows the video.

Setting up your sources

1

Open Lead Sources

Click Account Settings at the bottom left, then open Lead Sources.
2

Start from the defaults

Leaf360’s default source categories are already there.
3

Add a new source, or add sub-sources to an existing one

Click into an existing source — for example Social Media — to see its sub-sources, and add your own to get more specific. For a source like Website, that might mean splitting a single generic source into your company website, individual landing pages, or specific ad campaigns.
Referral works a little differently: instead of typing sub-sources in by hand, it automatically pulls its list from your referral partners and business contacts.
Once set, a lead’s Source (and Sub-Source or Referral Contact, depending on the source type) can also be set in bulk when importing a file — see Import Data.
