Custom Fields is where your company adds fields of its own, on top of what Leaf360 already comes with. You can add them to three kinds of records: leads on the Sales Pipeline, loans on the Loan Pipeline, and Partners.
Open it from Settings, then Custom Fields.
Unlike most Settings screens, Custom Fields isn’t limited to admins. Anyone who can open Settings can add, rename, or remove a custom field here, and everyone at your company will see the change. If you want to control who’s allowed to touch this, that has to be handled outside Leaf360 — by agreeing as a team on who’s allowed to make changes.
Adding a field
Pick the record type you’re working on, then click Add Field. Each field has:
- A label — the name everyone sees on the record and in list columns
- A field type: short text, long text, number, currency, percentage, date, date and time, single or multiple choice dropdown, checkbox, email, phone, URL, or address
- For a dropdown field, the list of options
- Whether it’s required, plus optional placeholder or help text
- A section to group it under on the record, and whether it shows in the list view, the detail view, or both
On the Loan Pipeline, Leaf360 also watches for fields that already hold data on loan records but haven’t been set up here yet — for example, fields written by your connected loan origination system. These show up as discovered fields. You can turn one into a managed custom field with its own label and type, without losing any of the data already on those loans.
Renaming a field
Renaming a field only changes the label people see. The values already saved on every lead, loan, or partner record stay exactly where they are and keep showing correctly under the new label — the data key behind a field never changes once it’s created.
Removing a field
Deleting a field removes it everywhere: it disappears from the form, from list columns, and from the record’s detail view. It does not delete the values already saved on existing records. That data stays in place — there’s just nothing left to show it. If your company later recreates a field that stores under the same key, the old values can reappear. Otherwise they stay invisible and out of reach on Leaf360’s screens.
There’s no confirmation screen that explains any of this. Before you delete a field that has data in it, be sure that’s really what you want — there’s no undo inside Leaf360 once it’s gone.
Organizing fields into sections
Fields are grouped into sections, shown as headers on the record. Rename a section and every field in it moves under the new name, across every record, at once. Delete a section and Leaf360 asks you to pick another section to move its fields into first.
